Blackstone-Millville Regional high school is a public, comprehensive school with grades nine through twelve. It is accredited by the New England Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the Massachusetts Department of Education.

The Communities of Blackstone and Millville are located approximately forty-five miles southwest of Boston, twenty miles south of Worcester, MA and twenty miles north of Providence, Rhode Island. Both are primarily residential communities with a combined number of approximately 11,000 residents.

The total high school enrollment is 470 students, with 115 being seniors. From the graduating class of 2016, 53% enrolled in a four-year college and 20% enrolled in a two-year college program. The average combined SAT scores of the class of 2015 was 1604, with an average of 508 in Critical Reading and 524 in Math.

Students are required to complete 24 credits of class work for graduation with a minimum-passing grade of 65 on a scale of 100. A class that meets five days a week for the full year receives one full credit. These classes are weighted for the purpose of class rank with high school level courses weighted 1.0, college prep courses weighted at 1.05, advanced classes at 1.1, the honors courses weighted at 1.15 and Advanced Placement is weighted at 1.2. Among the required 24 credits for graduation, students must successfully complete four years of English, three years of math, three years of science, three years of history, 2 years of foreign language, 1 year of technology and a physical education/health requirement.

Our History:

The Blackstone-Millville Regional School District was established in 1967 to serve the needs of students from the towns of Blackstone and Millville. The District consists of one elementary school in Millville, two elementary schools in Blackstone, one Middle School and one High School.

In recent years, the Blackstone-Millville Regional School District has constructed two new elementary schools as well as rehabilitated the John F. Kennedy School. The District also opened the new Frederick W. Hartnett Middle School in August of 2003.

Members of the Blackstone-Millville Regional District School Committee are elected at large from the two member communities. Each of the eight members, four from each community, serves a four-year term. Two members stand for election each April.

Attendance Policy:

The Attendance Policy states that students who are absent unexcused, more than five times in a quarter will receive an administrative grade of no more than a 50.

Discipline Code:

The written discipline code is clear, concise, published in the student and faculty handbooks and also mailed home to the parents of the students.
